A photography contest and an art contest will be held in coordination with the Centerville Centennial coming up in 2008. The subjects of the photo and art entries must be Centerville related. Examples would be residents or scenery, may include farm scenes, community events or gatherings. The photos should depict “typical Centerville” and promote the area in a positive way. There will be two categories in the current photo area, black and white and color. Submit your photo in an 8 x 10 size mounted on matt board. Another area in the photo contest will be vintage photos of Centerville’s early years. These may be in brown tone or color, but must have approximate year and title of event included with photo. There will be a $1.00 entry fee for each photo. The money going back into the prize fund.

Let your imagination take you into the art field. There are many ways to express Centerville in this area. Examples would be in wood, sculpture, pencil drawings, watercolors, acrylic or oil painting, etc. There will be divisions in each area, with an overall grand prize. These contests are open to everyone, not just residents of Centerville, however the subject must be Centerville related, as stated before. Again a $1.00 entry fee for each item is required.
