Organized
in 2001, the Centerville Area Foundation was created to
establish a permanent means of funding for projects and
important needs in the Centerville Community. Partnering
with the South Dakota Community Foundation, Centerville is
now one of seventy communities throughout South Dakota that
has established a Community Savings Account. The earning
from this account are available annually to provide a
lasting legacy to the community of Centerville. The state
Foundation pools money from over 230 funds for investment
and administration purposes. Earnings from approximately
$41 million are available for distribution for non-profit,
charitable and scholarship purposes.
The Centerville Area
Foundation announced a new goal and community challenge in
June of 2005: 125 for the 125th!
The Foundation intends to raise an additional $125,000 by
2008, in time for the 125th anniversary of
Centerville. This will be accomplished by private donations,
estate gifts, and area fundraisers. Plan now to provide a
lasting legacy by your tax-deductible contribution to the
Centerville Area Foundation!
